Folding dining table, "slagbord" type, produced in the 1950s by Skaraborgs Möbelindustri, a historic manufacturer in Tibro, Sweden, a center known for the quality craftsmanship of its woodwork. The original manufacturer's label is present inside.
"Slagbord" tables originated in Scandinavian tradition as home work tables: versatile surfaces that could be folded to free up space in rural homes. In the 20th century, this type of table was reinterpreted in a modernist style, maintaining functionality and formal simplicity. The tabletop can be opened completely or on one side; each leaf measures 62 cm, and when fully extended, the table reaches 168 cm in length. The slender legs and simple profile reflect the Nordic aesthetic of the period, where practicality and proportion coexist in harmony.
