"Variett" teak bookcase with contrasting black uprights, designed by Bertil Fridhagen for Bodafors, Sweden.
The "Variett" modular bookcase, designed by Bertil Fridhagen for Bodafors, is a refined example of 1960s Swedish design. The teak shelves and cabinets contrast with the black lacquered uprights and legs, creating an elegant graphic contrast. The exposed brass joints highlight the meticulous craftsmanship. The sliding-door cabinet features a nearly invisible cantilevered handle, emphasizing the purity of the surfaces.
