Pair of vintage chalkware child face wall plaques dating to the mid-20th century. Each piece features softly sculpted childlike features with hand-painted details and a glossy finish. The plaques were molded and then hand painted, a common production method for decorative nursery and wall accents of the 1940s–1950s.
Integrated metal loops on the back allow them to hang flat against the wall. The expressive faces and slightly naïve sculptural style give the pair a distinctive vintage character and display well together as a small wall vignette.
