This armoir has been in the family for generations and was made by a relative in Limoges, France. It is a beautiful example of French Provincial (or Louis Philippe style) craftsmanship, likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. Its "bonnet top" (the curved decorative pediment) and the high-quality wood grain—likely cherry or fruitwood—make it especially attractive. This charming and large piece is entirely hand crafted and has many uses. We removed the doors and used it as a pantry, but the doors can be reattached. It features adjustable interior shelving, and original decorative brass escutcheons (keyhole covers) with a beautiful patina, slightly flared "bracket" feet and a molded cornice. Internal "sawtooth" shelf supports (allows for custom shelf heights). One drawer available on the bottom of the piece.
