The paperweight is executed in a faceted form, allowing light to refract beautifully through the deep green crystal while highlighting the finely sculpted white sulfide portrait at the center. The portrait depicts George Washington in classical profile, rendered with impressive detail and depth.

The underside retains two original identifying marks: an engraved “Baccarat 1954” signature along the base edge and the original “Shreve, Crump & Low Co., Boston” retailer label. Shreve, Crump & Low was one of America’s most prestigious luxury retailers and jewelers, known for selling fine European crystal, silver, and luxury goods.

Also present is a “Made in France” label, confirming the French manufacture.
