A striking mid-19th century French trumeau mantel mirror executed in the elegant Louis XV Rococo style.
The upper panel features a beautifully hand-painted pastoral scene depicting a romantic couple resting in a countryside landscape with sheep, a decorative theme inspired by 18th-century French genre paintings. The painting is framed by richly carved Rococo ornament including shell cartouches, floral scrollwork, and gilt highlights.
Below the painting sits a large mirror plate surrounded by additional carved detailing. The frame retains its softly aged pale blue-green painted finish with parcel-gilt accents, creating the warm patina associated with antique French decorative interiors.
