A friend who isn’t a country girl, once walked up to a longhorn on the other side of a barbed wire fence and proudly held out a wildflower on a long stem as an offering. With one quick dip and swipe of her horns, the cow neatly snipped off the flower and left just a short piece of stem in her hand. She was untouched, but deeply humbled and suddenly aware of how lucky she was to have the fence between them!

Wrapped in aged spur barbed wire and accented with a weathered metal Clavo, Willie's painting carries the grit and history of the West. The expansive blue backdrop echoes the open, endless skies of Southern Colorado.
