a hand-decorated vitrified ceramic plaque or medallion, featuring a high relief depicting the face of saint francis, glazed in white with a yellow halo against a beautiful blue background. The plaque dates to around 1930, and the evident patina covering the object, especially on the back, confirms our dating. The medallion is attributable to the luca della robbia factory in gualdo tadino, known for its lustre-finished ceramics and for its revival of the famous della robbia plaques, created in the 16th century by its namesake ancestor, always depicting religious subjects. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
