Large charming oil on linen from Sweden dated 1951 painted by Ulla Borgström (1918-1999) a listed artist from Sweden. This very whimsical and atmospheric interior still life painting features a large floral bouquet rendered in harmonious color with confident, expressive brushwork. Beautiful use of color and an excellent composition. Very charming in person! The painting is initialed and dated 1951 on the lower left front. The painting measures 19 and 3/4 inches wide by 39 and 1/2 inches wide framed to a size of 20 and 1/2 inches wide by 40 and 1 /4 high.
The painting is in very good vintage condition with minimal vintage wear. The linen canvas is tight, intact and without repairs. There are a few dollops of paint on the canvas from the artist's expressive brushstrokes. Please refer to the last photo. It is framed in a primitive wooden strip frame that is painted black and not original to the painting. The frame shows the usual vintage wear but is presentable and adds to the charm of this painting.
