Fine late 18th-century English Georgian sterling silver cruet set by the noted London silversmiths Peter & Ann Bateman, dated 1793 (George III period).

The elegant pierced oval stand is raised on four fluted feet and features delicate bright-cut engraving with vacant cartouches. A graceful heart-shaped carrying handle rises from the center.

The stand retains its original matched set of four cut-glass bottles with faceted stoppers. Two bottles are fitted with sterling-mounted collars for oil and vinegar, and two are open for condiments.

Hallmarks:
Clear London hallmarks to base including lion passant (sterling), leopard’s head (London assay), date letter for 1793, and maker’s mark “PB” for Peter & Ann Bateman.

Condition:
Very good antique condition. Glass bottles and stoppers appear original and matching to the set. Minor expected wear consistent with age.
