Crafted in England, the lamp exemplifies Victorian lighting design, both sculptural and architectural in form. The substantial circular plinth base is composed of three hand-carved feet, anchoring the lamp with visual weight and balance. The tall oak stem, turned and joined with an integral screw mechanism, speaks to 19th-century woodworking precision. Rising from this is a single block-carved uplighter shade, detailed with convex petal motifs alternating with slender fluted grooves—a subtle reference to the Aesthetic Movement and its botanical leanings. Restored and newly ebonized, the blackened oak has a soft satin finish that enhances the natural grain without diminishing the historical character of the piece.
