This Italian table mirror designed by Olaf Von Bohr for Gedy in the 1970s illustrates the experimentation with plastic materials that characterized many domestic objects of the Space Age era.
The design combines a circular adjustable mirror with an elongated base that functions as a tray for small personal items. Produced in molded thermoplastic with a glossy blue finish, the object reflects the functional yet sculptural approach typical of Von Bohr’s work.
During the 1970s, Gedy became internationally known for innovative bathroom accessories made with modern plastics. Designers were encouraged to explore new shapes and production techniques, resulting in objects that combined practicality with strong visual identity.
The mirror tilts easily thanks to a central pivot, allowing comfortable use on a dressing table, desk, or bathroom counter.
A refined example of Italian plastic design from the Space Age period. This piece has an attribution mark,
