Vintage mid century modern lounge chairs attributed to Folke Ohlsson for Dux, made in Sweden in the 1960s.
The rear legs, spindle backs, and seat frames join in a triangular formation, creating an eye-capturing geometric silhouette in profile. The spindles remain exposed when viewed from behind, making the chair pleasing to look at from all angles. Polished brass sabots adorn each of the feet, a signature element seen in a number of Ohlsson’s designs.
The pair has been expertly refinished and newly upholstered in a Calais Rouge, a soft, textural weave from Thibaut.
This pair is unmarked. From the research we have done, this particular design was sometimes stamped "Made in Sweden" on the seat frame, but never stamped with the Dux insignia. The attribution is by industry consensus.
