A George III oak and mahogany cross-banded, bow front corner cupboard, built to hang. It has two lovely inlaid marquetry shell motifs. This technique is typical of the Chippendale period. The cupboard measures 40 1/2" high, 27" across the top. From the front to the back corner it measures 19 1/2". There is a lock or portions of a lock but no key. It is in excellent condition.
It was bought in Matlock, England during 1988. My receipt and a later appraisal by Phillip's Auction House in London, come with the cupboard.
