Ceramic side table designed by Paul Vermeire for Perignem, Belgium, 1960s.
Paul Vermeire was a Belgian artist based in Ostend whose practice included ceramics, paintings and drawings. During the 1960s he collaborated with Perignem, one of Belgium’s most respected ceramic workshops known for working with contemporary artists.
The table combines a simple metal frame with a ceramic top and is signed. Pieces by Vermeire for Perignem reflect the experimental spirit of Belgian studio ceramics of the period.
