This remarkable piece is composed of two elements: a circular mirror (48 cm diameter), recently replaced following the exact design of the original, set within a stunning concave solid copper dish that serves as both frame and structural support. The true strength of this work lies in its extraordinary hand-hammered repoussé copper surface, which transcends mere decoration and transforms the piece into a genuine wall sculpture. Along the entire rim of the dish unfolds a refined sequence of anthropomorphic figures in a primitivist style: some appear dancing in rhythmic motion, while others stand still and solemn, reminiscent of ancient Greek statues worn and fragmented by the passage of time. The handcrafted repoussé work is further enhanced by an exceptional natural patina developed over decades, giving the copper remarkable chromatic depth with subtle purple undertones and verdigris highlights. This authentic oxidation significantly contributes to the artistic presence and sculptural quality of the piece. This mirror is one of the standout works in our collection, as it beautifully merges Italian Mid-Century Modern design with primitivist artistic influences, elevating a functional decorative object into a contemplative work of art. Condition: Good vintage condition. The mirror plate (48 cm diameter) has been replaced in accordance with the original design. The copper dish retains its original, well-preserved patina. A highly decorative and sculptural statement piece, ideal for Mid-Century Modern interiors, Italian design collections, or sophisticated eclectic spaces.
