1940’s Bentwood Debrecen Panel Back Dining Chairs – Mixed.
The chair is what we call a standard shape of classic ‘Panel Back’ chair from the 1940’s and 1950’s. The chairs will always be the classic panel back shape with a good-sized round seat, but there may be minor design differences in the overall shape and construction, The variation could be on leg shape, seat construction or another minor design difference. The colour will vary from a light blonde beech through to a darker oak as shown. For all orders we will select a random mix of this model. All chairs are original bentwood chairs from the 1940’s and 1950’s and every chair has been serviced and rejuvenated in our own workshops. It is hard to be precise about the origin of these chairs as little history is known, but what we do know is at the beginning of the 20th Century two producers existed J&J Kohn and Mundus. Both produced chairs in various factories throughout the Austro Hungarian empire. These chairs are an early model probably from Debrecen, we know it is a Mundus model because we have seen marked examples. Either way, beautiful surviving and fascinating chairs Our workshop team services all of our chairs before they leave us. Perfect for the hospitality industry.
Adult seat height minimum 45cm.
