Vintage Danish Modern teak sideboard with vitrine from the 1970s. The case rests atop a clean, architectural base, with sculpted drawer pulls and door handles providing punctuation to an otherwise minimalist look.
Cabinet spaces on the left and center each have a single adjustable shelf, perfect for plates and glassware, while the column of drawers on the right provides ample space for smaller tableware.
The underside of the vitrine is stamped “Made in Canada.” We acquired this piece with a set of dining chairs by R. Huber, a mid century Canadian manufacturer of Scandinavian style furniture best known for their Scoop lounge chair. Although the credenza does not have a maker’s mark, we believe it to be an R. Huber piece.
This piece was extremely well kept and shows light signs of use only on close inspection.
Note: the hutch rests on top of the credenza and is not affixed to it.
