This handsome design by Davis Allen design for McGuire of San Fransisco was created to accompany the "Square" sofa and lounge chairs. It is executed in rattan and cane wicker with a glass top. The rectilinear form is the perfect counter point to the organic materials, with the geometry offset by the delightful details.
In addition to this coffee table, we have the matching sofa, a single lounge and ottoman, two more square chairs which share an ottoman, as well as round and rectangular side tables – all of which come with Tropical modern aficionado Sir Terrance the toucan's seal of approval.
Iowa native Davis Allen (1916-1999) worked at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill for over 40 years, and designed furniture for Stow Davis, Steelcase, Bernhardt, Stendig, GF, Hickory Furniture, and McGuire.
