This set of six Italian dining chairs combines a Louis XVI-inspired medallion back with an all-over carved faux bois frame in a warm blonde cerused style finish with white washed detailing in the grooves. The carved faux bois branch-like motif runs continuously through the legs, seat rail, and back surround, giving the frames a light, decorative quality typical of Florentine production of this period. The chairs are unmarked but consistent in quality and style with work attributed to Chelini of Florence.
The chairs measure 39.25 inches tall by 20 inches wide by 20.75 inches deep, with a seat height of 18 inches, seat width of 17.5 inches, and seat depth of 16 inches. The wood frames are in very good vintage condition with no breaks or repairs. The mauve velvet upholstery has some light spotting and staining to select seats that has not been treated.
