The relief panels depict robed figures in classical settings — courtly pursuits, processions, and mythological vignettes — framed by rope-twist borders and scrolling foliate detail throughout. The two-tone patina, with gilt brass highlights playing against the silver-toned recesses, gives the piece a warm, aged character. Small bracket feet elevate the form with quiet elegance. The interior is fitted with a clean wood lining, secured with brass rivets to the underside of the lid. A lovely object for a desk, dressing table, or display shelf — equally at home holding jewelry, correspondence seals, or simply as a sculptural presence in a classically appointed room. See less
