A monumental late 18th century French provincial oak enfilade, circa 1780, of exceptional scale and presence.
Measuring an impressive 113.5 inches in width, this château-scale sideboard features four deeply carved raised-panel doors framed by restrained Rococo scrollwork. The carving is bold yet provincial in character, reflecting rural craftsmanship rather than courtly Parisian production. The long iron strap hinges and pierced escutcheons remain intact, and the cabinet retains its hand-planed backboards a strong indicator of 18th century construction.
The solid oak top is formed from substantial planks with beautiful age, grain movement, and natural patina developed over more than two centuries. Paneled ends and heavy mortise-and-tenon construction further reinforce its authenticity and durability.
The interior offers generous storage with shelving across the full span, making this piece highly functional for modern living. Its proportions make it ideal as a dining room server, media console, entry statement piece, or anchoring element along a large wall.
Oversized 18th century enfilades of this length are increasingly scarce and highly sought after by designers for their architectural presence and warmth.
A true period example with timeless scale.
