An extraordinary example of early Venetian modernism, where sculptural glass and architectural metalwork converge with poetic rigor. Each sconce features a double light structure composed of twisted “torchon” Murano glass arms — dense, tactile, and luminous — supporting circular hand-blown glass drip trays. The visual rhythm recalls the refined language of Gio Ponti, particularly in the elegant brass candle cups with fluted profiles and in the sober yet expressive wall mount. The solid brass structure shows a deep, honest patina developed over time, enhancing the authenticity and historical presence of the pieces. The contrast between the warm aged brass and the crystalline transparency of the glass creates a refined and sophisticated dialogue typical of Seguso’s late 1930s production. Condition: The glass plates present small external chips along the edges and internal hairline cracks within the glass body. These do not affect stability or functionality in any way. Once installed, they are not visible in normal viewing conditions. We have deliberately chosen to preserve the sconces in their original state rather than replace elements, as these signs of time contribute to their charm, integrity, and authenticity. The brass mounts retain their original wiring. For safety reasons, we recommend updating the electrical system according to current standards. Dimensions: Width: 28 cm Depth: 14 cm Height: 23 cm (without bulbs) Height: 30 cm (with bulbs) Double light each. Extremely rare on the market and of significant historical interest, these wall lights embody the transition between Italian Art Deco and early modernist sensibility in Murano glass production.
