A Murano glass ashtray attributed to Flavio Poli for Seguso, handcrafted in Italy during the 1970s. Produced using the sommerso ("submerged") technique, layers of vibrant red and soft sky blue glass are encased within clear Murano crystal, creating striking internal colour depth. The piece is meticulously formed into a sharply faceted triangular shape, with each of the three points channelled to hold a cigarette. The sharply polished 45-degree angles of the base resemble a finely cut gemstone, with each facet catching light and emphasizing the bold interplay of colour within the glass. Measuring 10 cm deep, 12 cm wide, and 8 cm tall, the ashtray remains in good vintage condition. Minor chips and light surface scratches are present on the faceted edges and base, consistent with its age and delicate form. A refined example of mid-century Murano craftsmanship, showcasing Flavio Poli’s mastery of colour layering and cold working. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
