The rectangular mirror plate is encased within a deeply layered surround of woven rattan, creating a rich sense of texture and depth. The tight basket-weave construction forms a substantial border, softening the geometry of the glass while adding warmth and craftsmanship.

Radiating from the outer edge are evenly spaced bamboo segments, cut to retain their natural nodes and projecting outward like stylised sun rays. This rhythmic arrangement gives the piece a sunburst quality, lending it movement and a distinctly 1960s–70s character.

The honeyed tone of the bamboo has mellowed attractively over time, enhancing the organic appeal of the materials. See less
