Originally the base of a highboy dresser or cabinet, it now stands on its own as a striking console cabinet. The oak top displays expected age-related wear — patina, dark staining, subtle streaking, and minor edge chips — all hallmarks of authentic period character. Three dovetail-jointed drawers are each adorned with decorative inlay and fan motifs at the corners, reflecting the classical symmetry and expert craftsmanship characteristic of the Georgian era. Hardware appears to be a later brass replacement. See less
