Antique Meiji / Taisho Era Japanese Porcelain Footed Nut & Dipping Bowls — Set of 6
This charming set of six antique Japanese porcelain footed dishes offers a stunning glimpse into early 20th-century Asian artistry. Hand-painted with meticulous detail, each bowl features a traditional landscape scene of Bijin (beautiful women) in flowing kimonos relaxing in a riverside garden. The composition is framed by historic wooden pavilions, a curved bridge, and vibrant floral blooms.
The set is rendered in a classic export palette of iron-red, cobalt blue, and garden greens, accented with delicate hand-applied gilt. Characterized by a lobed, scalloped rim and three petite tripod feet, these versatile dishes are perfect for serving nuts, salts, or dipping sauces. While unmarked on the underside, their specific pattern, glaze, and construction allow them to be confidently attributed to the same late Meiji or early Taisho era production as larger marked sets from the same period.

Condition
Very Good Antique Condition. These dishes have been remarkably well-preserved for over a century. The porcelain is free of major structural cracks. As is consistent with authentic antique export ware, there is minor, age-appropriate frictional wear to the iron-red rims and very slight fading to the hand-painted gold accents.
A rare find in a complete set of six, these exquisite tripod bowls bring the timeless grace of the Japanese countryside to the modern table.
