A refined and elegant pair of antique French turquoise blue opaline urns, richly mounted in gilt bronze (ormolu), dating to the Second Empire period, circa 1860–1885.
These beautifully proportioned urns feature clawfoot bases, eagle-form handles, scrolling bronze detail, and lidded covers topped by cherub-form finials. The opaline glass displays a soft, luminous glow that is characteristic of high-quality French production, paired with finely chased Parisian gilt bronze (bronze doré) mounts.
Perfectly scaled for a mantel, buffet, or console, this striking pair offers timeless presence and classic French sophistication. Pieces of this quality were created for the Paris decorative arts trade and were intended as statement objects within refined interiors.
