Monumental mid-century modern executive credenza designed by Paul Evans for Directional, circa 1970s. This impressive cabinet features Evans’ signature patchwork burl veneer, composed of carefully arranged panels that highlight the dramatic grain and movement of the wood.
The piece works equally well as a credenza, dresser, or statement sideboard. The interior offers generous storage and the top drawers are felt lined
Exceptionally solid and very heavy, reflecting the substantial construction typical of Evans’ work during this period. A striking example of American modern design and a desirable piece for collectors of Paul Evans and Directional furniture.

- This piece is in very good vintage condition. There are minor imperfections consistent with age, including a small chip to … moreThis piece is in very good vintage condition. There are minor imperfections consistent with age, including a small chip to one corner. The finish is not perfectly smooth throughout, but all burl veneer panels are secure and well adhered. The credenza retains its original vintage finish, which has developed a warm patina over time. While the piece could certainly be refinished to achieve a more uniform “like new” surface, we feel the existing finish adds character and authenticity to the design. Because this is such a special piece, we prefer to leave that decision to the next owner. As it sits today, the credenza is structurally sound and ready to be placed and enjoyed immediately. less
