He was born in 1966 and raised on a farm in Lumpkin Georgia. As a child he spent most of his time exploring the fields and woods around him along with the animals that dwelled there. These experiences would later be explored through his art. Racoons, birds, deer, fox, quail, and guinea hens are among his favorite subjects but a snowman or two sneak in from time to time adding to the value of this piece. Cornbread uses a vibrant palette and paints energetically on plywood with acrylic paint. He is still currently painting and recent high auction records indicate that his art is being actively collected. Today, more and more Interior decorators are relying on Folk art to have their spaces tell a story and to give the home a curated soul. This "Cornbread" snowman evokes a sense of playfulness and joy and would bring the magic to anyone's home year round.
This painting is done in acrylic on 3/4 inch plywood. It is in great condition and measures 12 and 3/4 inches wide by 21 and 1/4 inches high. It is signed on the front bottom "Cornbread" and again on the back John Cornbread Anderson with a Merry Christmas inscription by the artist. It has a hook on the back for hanging. See less
