The word "Equipale" has its origin in Indian Nahuatl language "icpalli" which means chair for gods. A ground-level seat used by Aztec rulers in the manner of a throne.
Original Condition: Circa mid-20th Century, these chairs are in stunning condition through with the expected age related marks, scuffs & patina. Made using Pigskin & Mexican Cedar.
Provenance: Originally purchased in an Antique Shop in Texas over 30 years ago.
