These chairs are uniquely crafted with straight front legs and closed fretwork along with carved panels to the side. The back maintains an intricately carved pattern with a yoke style top rail which is unseen in modern furniture. These chairs display characteristics originating from the designs typical of Thomas Chippendale; made from beautifully patinated mahogany, these chairs are a testament to the enduring elegance of Chippendale design. Thomas was the leading English cabinetmaker of the mid-18th century. During the Georgian period Chippendale produced many dining chair designs with elaborately carved backs, from which the inspiration for these chairs was obviously drawn. This set is in excellent antique condition, for each chair has gone through a rigorous process of reconditioning. Professionally restored to its original beauty. Refinished in a medium walnut stain and the seats re-upholstered in a stunning and classic white fabric color. All chairs are sturdy and comfortable with high backs for better support.
