Black glazed ceramic vide-poche in the form of an open hand, made in Vallauris, France, in the 1960s.
The generous palm-shaped basin and softly modeled fingers give the piece a strong sculptural presence while remaining fully functional. It can be used as a catchall, ashtray, or small centerpiece.
Its organic volume and glossy black finish evoke the famous “bear paw” forms by Georges Jouve.
