Moreno Ovani lives and works in Pesaro, where he was born in 1969.

Always drawn to figurative drawing, he initially limited this natural inclination to countless sketches on paper, pencil, or charcoal, even during his work as an exhibition designer.

For several years, he has dedicated himself entirely to large-format painting, replacing the chiaroscuro of pencil with that of oils and acrylics on canvas-backed paper. Through tireless and constant research into pure technical and aesthetic techniques, focused on the combination of color and material, he has achieved a powerful chromatic minimalism in works that often emerge from the darkness in the form of statues or bodies.

Specifically, his subjects draw inspiration from classical sculptures, and their realism embodies both mental and physical strength.
