The stamped numbers on the inside of the frame of the seat show a "5", maybe one of five. Also present are what I can make out 1622. Checking history facts of the numbers and what they mean revealed that the first two numbers are the year it was made and the last two numbers are the weeks. That would put this chair made in August of 1916.
Solid chair with brass support componets which could have been Thonet (no label) or other mfg. such as Austrian Viennese Secession like JJ Kohn or Fischell.
Very comforable and handsome chair. See less
