This is a stunning example of late 20th-century French glass artistry by Jean-Noël Bouillet. Known for his mastery of Amalgam Lacquers (Verre Églomisé), Bouillet utilized a rare and labor-intensive reverse-painting technique to create the vibrant, organic patterns seen here. Heavily influenced by Art Nouveau and Art Deco, his work often features vivid colors, gold, and intricate, surrealist designs.
Design & Aesthetic
The lamp features a slender, turned-form standard that flows into a wide, bulbous base. The glass is decorated from the inside with a rich, mottled palette of emerald greens, deep teals, and accents of fiery orange and crimson. This internal painting gives the piece a remarkable depth and a jewel-like translucency when lit.
