Very fine quality Post War Chinese export; large centerpiece presentation hand painted porcelain punch bowl in the Famille Rose pattern … Read more Very fine quality Post War Chinese export; large centerpiece presentation hand painted porcelain punch bowl in the Famille Rose pattern featuring Rose Medallion design with four ornate scenic panels; each to the exterior and interior. The entire surfaces are highly decorated with alternating panels of courtyard scenes featuring concubines and pagodas; followed by nature scenes depicting butterflies and birds, as would have typically been produced in the Qing Dynasty. The bowl is in excellent and completely all original condition with no restoration of any kind; no chips or cracks, and no touch up paint. Hand painted in enamel, with a multiplicity of vibrant colors and some touch gold gilt application; there is also the use of raised and hand painted decoration similar to what the Japanese used in their moriage decor. This is especially noticeable on the four interior and exterior vertical floral panels, and in the fauna scenes. The bowl is marked "JUWC" which stands for "Jars United Wilson Company" located in Hong Kong.

At 16 1/2" diameter and 8" high, with copious hand painted decoration, this would make a wonderful dining room centerpiece or statement making entryway table feature.
