Designed in 1970 by Italian designer Ivo Sedazzari and produced by Prisma, the “Aureola” table lamp is a refined example of Italian Space Age articulated lighting from the early 1970s.
The lamp features an enameled aluminum base and shade paired with a chrome-plated articulated arm, allowing the user to precisely direct reflected light. The sculptural silhouette and functional adjustability exemplify the experimental and forward-looking character of postwar Italian design.
The articulated mechanism holds position securely when adjusted. When illuminated, the enamel finish appears lighter; when off, it presents a deeper tone (see photos for reference).

Condition:
Very good vintage condition. The base shows a few small enamel chips and faint surface scratches consistent with age and use. Articulation functions properly and remains stable in position. Wired for European use and fully functional and has adaptor for US outlets.

Original examples typically retain a manufacturer’s decal to the underside reading “Prisma Made in Italy.”

Finish Note:
The lamp appears in two tonal variations in the photographs — a darker gray in two images and a lighter gray in the remaining images. This difference is due to lighting conditions when photographed. The darker tone is visible when the lamp is unlit or photographed in lower ambient light, while the lighter appearance occurs when illuminated or under stronger lighting. The finish itself is consistent. See less
