This is a beautiful pair of Vintage Royal Winton Grimwades, England "Summertime"(pattern #775) design ascot bowls with the letter "A" … Read more This is a beautiful pair of Vintage Royal Winton Grimwades, England "Summertime"(pattern #775) design ascot bowls with the letter "A" below it, indicating production from 1951 onwards. Later reissues from 1995 or 1997-1998 do not include the letter "A" on the backstamp. They often have the year of "1995" to distinguish them from the original vintage pieces. This classical chintz design pattern is characterized by its dense, all over floral motif, often featuring roses and other garden flowers in vibrant pinks, yellows, and blues, set against a cream-colored background. They have scalloped edges with hand-painted 22kt gold-trimmed rims. Many pieces in the series were made between 1940s- 1960s. These gorgeous bowls are made of only the best earthenware, which is highly durable. A common characteristic of vintage earthenware due to age and the nature of the material you may notice on the surface is called crazing. Which is fine cracks on the surface.
