Lamalle sourced its French culinary wares from established porcelain houses during the mid-20th century. While this example does not carry a Pillivuyt factory mark, comparable Lamalle imports were often produced by Pillivuyt. The weight, glaze, modeling, and interior finish are consistent with that production tradition.

Rendered in a warm terracotta glaze with a white glazed interior, the piece features a dynamic lid crowned by two opposing chicken heads and molded poultry feet details at the sides. The sculptural quality elevates it beyond standard cookware into decorative French provincial statement.
