Late 19th Century Ottoman Brass-Overlay Copper Brazier Vessel
A striking hand-hammered copper vessel from the late Ottoman period, richly embellished with applied brass foliate ornament and twisted wire borders.
Raised from heavy-gauge copper and resting on three solid brass feet, the bulbous body is encircled with rhythmic arabesque appliqué typical of Anatolian workshop production circa 1880–1910. The substantial forged swing handle is mounted with substantial riveted brackets, emphasizing the utilitarian strength of the original design.
Originally intended as a charcoal brazier or heating vessel, the piece today serves beautifully as a sculptural decorative object — ideal for global, Moorish, or eclectic interiors.
Interior shows age-appropriate oxidation and wear from historic tin lining. Brass overlay remains intact and presents strong visual contrast against the aged copper patina.
A compelling example of late Ottoman domestic metalwork.
