This charming trompe l’oeil example features a sculptural mallard duck resting atop a textured, rustic “baked crust” lid — a nod to traditional French country charcuterie presentation. The base is richly modeled in warm terracotta tones with fluted detailing, while the interior is glazed in pale celadon.

Lamalle was a respected New York importer of fine French tableware in the mid-20th century, making this a desirable retailer-stamped example rather than a standard factory export piece.
