Japanese TANSU, or chest of drawers, originally built in the late 1800s. All parts are original except for additional wood pegs used to support the original wood boards. All hardware is original included some original nails again used for support.
All drawers were constructed with wood pegs, example photo included. All locks are open except for bottom right side bottom draw but it closes without any issue. except for minor adjustment when closing. No key is included but unneeded.
The back, in the drawer, lock wood covering was removed, not by current owner. But prior to purchase in 1980s by same owner as today.
Handles are on either side of the TANSU for ease in moving.
Great accent piece and unique for any home living room.

Although stated width is 26, it is actually 25 but with the two side handles, increase with 1/4 inches, so used 26 inches. less
