Pair of Antique 1890s Limoges Elite Works 9" Square Serving Bowls – Celadon Dots & Gold Scrolls
A stunning and rare matched pair of square porcelain serving bowls from the renowned Elite Works (Bawo & Dotter) of Limoges, France. Dating specifically to the late 19th-century transitional period (1896–1900), these pieces feature a delicate, stippled seafoam green band adorned with ornate, hand-applied gold scrollwork and floral sprays. The elegantly scalloped rims and deep, versatile forms make them centerpiece-quality additions to any fine china collection or formal dinner service. Finding a matching pair in this condition is a significant rarity for collectors.
Dimensions:
Width: 9 inches
Height: Approximately 2.5 inches
Weight: Approximately 1.5 lbs each (3 lbs total)
Condition:
Excellent Antique Condition. Both pieces are free of chips, cracks, or crazing. The white porcelain remains bright and vitreous, while the gold gilding on the rims and interiors is remarkably well-preserved for its age, showing only the most negligible, age-appropriate surface wear.
Collector's Note:
These bowls bear the desirable dual Elite Works backstamps, confirming they were both manufactured and decorated in their Limoges studio during their premier production era (1896–1900).
A rare opportunity to acquire a complete pair of these exquisite bowls in pristine condition. They offer a timeless touch of Belle Époque elegance to any curated table or display cabinet.
