Elevate your collection with this exquisite mid-20th century (Showa Era) tray from the legendary Zohiko studio of Kyoto. Established in 1661 and a former purveyor to the Japanese Imperial Household, Zohiko is the pinnacle of Japanese lacquer artistry.

This 9-inch piece features a translucent fuki-urushi (wiped lacquer) finish that beautifully showcases the natural wood grain. It is decorated with a masterfully applied Maki-e (sprinkled gold and silver powder) orchid motif. True to high-end Kyoto craftsmanship, the tray is exceptionally lightweight (under 5 oz), a hallmark of expert wood-turning and refined Urushi application.
