This … Read more A striking vintage French porcelain terrine by Pullivuyt of Limoges, featuring a sculpted partridge (perdrix) resting across the lid.

This oval terrine measures 8 3/4” long by 4 1/2” wide and is beautifully glazed in warm chestnut and caramel tones, with hand-painted detailing to the bird’s plumage, red beak, and characteristic black neck collar.

Pillivuyt, founded in 1818, is known for producing fine porcelain for both French and American luxury markets. Figural game bird terrines were traditionally used for pâté or foie gras service and today are highly sought after for decorative display.

The interior is glazed in a soft celadon tone. The sculptural modeling is particularly well executed, giving the piece wonderful presence from every angle.
