This beautifully crafted piece combines Louis XV elegance with the fascination for Asian aesthetics characteristic of the period.

The commode is distinguished by its remarkable marquetry in contrasting wood tones depicting Oriental pastoral scenes: slender pagodas, Asian figures in poetic gardens, and meticulously rendered exotic flora. The top features a splendid black marble slab veined with white, recently restored, which lends the piece a timeless elegance. The three drawers and three doors on the front are adorned with circular gilt-bronze handles, while the cabriole legs maintain the harmonious proportions of the Louis XV style.

Dimensions: Height 90 cm, Width 55 cm, Depth in accordance with the standards of the period. Weight: 80 kg, attesting to its robust construction. Condition: Restored with some minor losses of original veneer, which contribute to its authenticity and remain fully restorable by specialist workshops. See less
