For sale is an authentic Republic Era (c. 1930s) Shanghai Advertising Poster, measuring 31.5" x 21.5". This vibrant lithograph was produced for the Fengtian Sun Tobacco Company and features a classic "Yuefenpai" scene of a mother and children, a dragon, and traditional auspicious symbols of prosperity.
Historical Context & Translation:
• Header: “Respectfully presented by the Fengtian (Mukden) Sun Tobacco Company.”
• Lower Left: Advertises Soccer Brand Cigarettes.
• Lower Right: Advertises White Horse Brand Cigarettes.
The artwork captures the "Hundred Children" motif, a popular Chinese theme for good fortune, alongside detailed illustrations of the cigarette packs in the upper-left corner.
