Active in the early 20th century, he worked in both wood and bronze, creating female figures, dancers, and emotionally charged compositions. He spent most of his life in Brienz. Sources differ on his date of death, generally placed between 1951 and 1964, a common variation for regional artists whose records are incomplete.
