At the top is an open compartment with a rear crossbar featuring two round openings, which keeps the piece visually light while giving it a nicely framed, architectural look. Below is a practical single drawer; the interior is lined with red textile, ideal for neatly storing jewellery, watches, notes, or other small valuables.

The wood shows a lively grain with warm honey-to-caramel tones and darker accents. Crisp lines, fine vertical grooves on the sides, and the original metal pull give it that distinctive Japanese mid-century feel: simple, yet full of character.

Today it works perfectly as a small accent piece on a sideboard, in an entryway, or as a bedside cabinet. It also makes a strong display stand for ceramics, a small vase, or a stack of books, with extra storage neatly tucked away in the drawer.
